West Core Drilling understands the requirement for accurate targeting of drill holes.
There are many ways to ensure our clients’ requirements are met.
As West Core Drilling is a specialist core drilling contractor, we start from the perspective that it is our job to drill a straight hole! Sometimes more is required, for instance correction of pre-collars that have deviated, in which case West Core can use casing wedges or by-pass wedges to get holes back on track.
With deeper targets, clients may wish to optimise metres drilled by using parent holes as a platform for multiple daughter holes. At West Core, we can plan the optimum configuration of parent and daughter holes to achieve your intersection points in the best way to minimise metres of core.
This can be achieved by:
- Working co-operatively with our clients to understand the ground conditions of the Prospect.
- Changing bit and barrel configurations and controlling penetration rates to best suit the ground conditions.
- Use of casing wedges and by-pass wedges.
- Use of navi drilling.
